Greetings in the Wonderful Name of Jesus!
Over the course of this last year, we have seen and experienced quite an array of troubling items. For me personally, I think one of the most troubling items would have to be disunity within our nation. We call ourselves the United States of America, but if truth be told, we are anything but united.
What about the hurricanes and floods that ravished our country in areas that had never seen such devastation. Then there’s the threat of war. Not just any war mind you, but the threat of World War. This is something that hasn’t been spoken of for years and years, and yet now it’s being mentioned almost on a regular basis. If that isn’t bad enough, what about the recent fires that have ravished California beginning in January of this year.
Again, when I think about all of these things, I can’t help but think of what Jesus said in Luke 21 when he spoke about “distress of nations, with perplexity and men’s heart’s failing for fear.” In other words, the world has no peace, it has no assurance, it has no joy because what they base their life upon are the temporal things of this world.
Well let me encourage you today, we are not of this world. Furthermore, our hope, assurance, and joy are not founded upon the temporal things of this world, they’re founded on Christ. And what is His admonition to us, “Be of good cheer; for I have overcome the world.” May this be the truth that fills and overwhelms your heart as we move into 2025.
As always, may God bless you richly!
